Naval Flight Officers (NFOs)

This page is devoted to Network members who are Naval and Marine Flight Officers NFOs). These are the men and women who enable naval and marine aviators to fly increasingly sophisticated aircraft to their targets.

NFOs operate the sophisticated electronic systems onboard nearly every naval and marine aircraft. Some may also serve as tactical coordinators of multiple air units. Naval Flight Officers free aviators to concentrate on flying the aircraft, while they manage complex navigation, sensor, and weapons systems necessary to complete a mission. Militarily, NFOs are equivalent to all other naval and marine officers, commanding shore facilities, aircraft squadrons, air wings, and even aircraft carriers.
