Highlights: Signed up for flight training in 1965 as a sophomore in college. Went to pre-flight for 10 weeks in '65 and 8 weeks in '66. Graduated from college in '67 and received commission... flunked eye test and went to 'banana' school, finished high enough to get an RIO billet. VF-101 was only seat available. Then to VF-31 and CAG-3. Saratoga failed her readiness inspection and I did 2 Med Cruises under PD Richardson and Gene Geronomie. Then after a tour in VT-24 was riffed in '73 |
