Highlights: My first tour out of Corpus Christi multi engine training was to VW-12 at Barbers Point HI. I was designated a Plane Commander in the WV-2 aircraft as a LTJG. Got into the carrier Navy after that tour and accumulated 427 traps in S-2/S-3 aircraft. Traps on USS ESSEX CVS-9, HMS Ark Royal, USS Roosevelt CVA-42, USS Kitty Hawk, USS John F Kennedy CV-67, and USS Eisenhower. WWII carriers to Nucs! Spent 2 years in the Ready Reserves prior to flight training (1956-1958). It was a wonderful career and the Officers and Sailors of the USN are outstanding members of the US Armed Forces. Go Navy!
